Meatball Soup

Amidst family reunions, Meatball Soup becomes a cherished ritual. With laughter echoing in the kitchen, hands come together to shape savory spheres of pork and ginger. As the aroma wafts through the kitchen, it's not just a meal; it's a moment of togetherness, a taste of home.

Ingredients:

1. Ground pork, 1 kg (preferably a mix of lean and fatty)

2. Ginger, 10-20 slices - very finely chopped

3. Green onion, 1 bunch - finely chopped

4. Sesame oil

5. Cooking wine

6. Egg, 1

7. Salt

8. MSG

9. Cornflour

10. Pepper

11. Cilantro (optional)

Method:

1. Prepare the pork mixture by adding the pork, ginger, and green onions to a bowl. Into the same bowl, also add 4-5 teaspoons of sesame oil, a splash of cooking wine, half an egg white, a pinch of salt, a dash of MSG, and a small amount of cornflour. Mix until everything is well combined.

2. Shape the meatballs by pinching a small portion of the pork mixture and rolling it into a ball in your hands. Keep repeating until you have used up all the mixture.

3. Bring a pot of water to a boil, and gently add in your meatballs. Let the meatballs boil until they float to the surface, indicating that they are cooked. Taste the soup and add any additional salt, MSG, or pepper to taste.

4. Ladle the meatballs and soup into bowls, and if desired, add some fresh cilantro on top to garnish.
