Indulge in the tantalizing aroma of this dish, a flavorful journey to China's vibrant street food markets. Each bite is a delicious blend of tradition and culture, inviting you to savor the essence of culinary heritage with every mouthful.

Ingredients:

1. Maryland chicken thighs, 2 - whole

2. Rice wine or cooking wine - a generous splash

3. Olive oil - 1 teaspoon

4. Black pepper or black pepper powder (optional)

5. White sugar - 2 teaspoons

6. Cooking spray (for greasing the air fryer basket)

Method:

1. In a bowl, combine two Maryland chicken thighs with a generous splash of rice wine or cooking wine. Add one teaspoon of olive oil and mix well. Optionally, add a sprinkle of black pepper or black pepper powder for added flavor.

2. Before marinating, sprinkle approximately two teaspoons of white sugar over the chicken thighs. Mix the sugar thoroughly to ensure an even coating.

3. Place the marinated chicken thighs in a plastic bag and shake well to coat them evenly. If you have time, let the chicken marinate overnight in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.

4. The next day, preheat your air fryer to 180 degrees Celsius.

5. Remove the marinated chicken thighs from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature.

6. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, then place the chicken thighs inside, ensuring they are not overcrowded.

7. Air fry the chicken thighs at 180 degrees Celsius for approximately 18 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

8. Once done, remove the pan-fried marinated chicken thighs from the air fryer, let them rest for a moment, and serve immediately.
